If you could be any animal, which would you be?
A human with a neuralink.

What’s the last book you read?
Origin Story: A Big History of Everything By David Christian. It is a great book with David Christian uses history to put order in the entire set of our knowledge about the world.

What are you passionate about?
Travel & wine

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Flew to London for the weekend to visit my wife

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
Big Data & AI (artificial intelligence). Traditionally customers on ecommerce sites found products by searching or navigating to them. With big data and AI, MassGenie will be able to push the right products to the right users based on the users demographics, their purchase history and product popularity.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?dinner with Dan
A meal in a private dining gazebo on the beach at Qamea Resort and Spa in Fiji during my honeymoon. It was paired with with a nice bottle of Justin Isosceles Reserve

If you could visit anywhere you’ve never been, where would you go?
Pyramids in Egypt

What do you like about working at a start-up?
The fast pace and the collaboration between everyone

What’s your secret talent that very few know about?
I am a polymath – a person whose expertise spans a significant number of different subject areas, known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems. My wife calls me Wikipedia.

What’s your favorite book?
Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I have no desire to be a crayon. I want to control my own destiny, not have someone control me.

What’s the most helpful way for you to get feedback?
In person. It is ok if it is on the phone. I struggle with feedback via email, text, etc., because it isn’t interactive.

What is your favorite family tradition?
Thanksgiving

Who is your least favorite superhero?
Superman

What’s the best part of working at MassGenie?
Having the chance to be part of changing the way people shop via social shopping.

If you could be any animal, which would you be? A cat because they’re so flexible, always land on their feet, and take naps.

What are you passionate about? Oral hygiene and recycling.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Had surgery under local anesthetic and rock climbed outdoors without a rope.

What are you currently watching on Netflix? New Girl

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? This fun and difficult rock climbing route in Malibu.

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day? Any Iron Chef judge.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had? Anniversary dinner with the boyfriend at a French restaurant in San Francisco.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go? Petra, Jordan

What are some of your pet peeves? When someone throws away their trash and misses, but leaves it.

What do you like about working at a start-up? The incorporation of social media into its marketing strategies and the collaboration of ideas from different types of people.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about? I can curl my tongue into a burrito AND a clover.

Which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? Neil Degrasse Tyson, Robin Williams, Pope Francis, and Anthony Bourdain.

What’s your favorite movie? This is extremely difficult to determine, but as of right now I recently enjoyed watching Blue Jasmine and Coco.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Yellow!

What’s the most helpful way for you to get feedback? Constructively and objectively.

What is your favorite family tradition? Going for walks on the beach together after a large meal.

Who is your least favorite superhero? Hawkeye and Falcon. Sorry, you do not have any powers, just really nice equipment.

What’s the best part of working at MassGenie? Working with such a diverse and kind group of individuals!

Which four individuals, living or dead, would you want to eat dinner with?
Jim Carrey, Gary Vaynerchuk, Bruce Willis, and Robin Williams.

What’s your favorite music to listen to?
I listen to a bit of everything, but my 5 Sirius stations are: Hair Nation, 70s, 90s, Hits, and The Highway!

What was the best concert you ever attended?
Edguy in Germany! It was a metal concert and the lead’s voice was so amazing. Plus the drum solo was super awesome because it consisted of a two minute flute interlude! Very unique and an absolute amazing time.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Hiked Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand (the peak near Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings). I’m scared of heights and when you’re walking across a short ledge between two peaks and the wind is blowing, it definitely tests your fears.

If you could be any animal, which would you be?
A shark! They are my all time favorite animal and the thought of swimming underwater without having to hold my breath sounds awesome! Plus, I love sushi! 🙂

What’s the last book you read?
Wild by Cheryl Strayed.

What are you passionate about?
Fitness, exploring different cultures and countries, sharks and ocean conservation, and social media!

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Black Mirror! Thanks to recommendations from my awesome colleagues. Also watching Criminal Minds, New Girl, and Ultimate Beastmaster!

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Lady Gaga! I want to know what it feels like to be an awesome singer.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
Fettuccini Alfredo in Venice Italy! The dish isn’t really authentic Italian, but there was one place that had it and it was the best! Accompanied with mussels and clams in a white wine sauce for an appetizer, I could easily eat that meal 3 times a week for the rest of my life! I went back to that restaurant about 10 times over the course of 4 trips.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
The Amazon!

What are some of your pet peeves?
People who change lanes without signaling, people who cough and don’t cover their mouth… you know. The basics.

What do you like about working at a start-up?
Communication is awesome! With just a few of us in the office, we’re able to bounce ideas back and forth and really get new upcoming projects going in a flash!

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I’m really good at planning trips and vacations- creating portfolios filled with itineraries, receipts, confirmations, time schedules, etc.! I also bar flared at TGI Fridays for three years. I’m no Tom Cruise, but I can flip a bottle or two!

What’s your favorite movie?
Jaws! Followed by Deep Blue Sea, 47 Meters Down, Shark Night 3D…Did I mention I like sharks? 🙂

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Green! It’s the best color all the way!

What’s the most helpful way for you to get feedback?
Direct and in the moment.

What is your favorite family tradition?
Slumber parties with my family on Christmas Eve and waking up early with the kids to open presents. Last Christmas Eve we even added onesie costumes to the mix!

What’s the best part of working at MassGenie?
The team! We’ve got a really cool group of individuals that work here. From bouncing ideas back and forth to chatting about awesome Netflix series, it’s never a boring day at MassGenie 🙂
